  A book written by Japanese weaving technology researcher Torimaru Sadae. On her 15-year on site survey and record of various dyeing and weaving techniques handed down by the Miao people, an ethnic minority living in southwestern China. 
 
  It includes over 700 photographs and informative text introducing nearly every aspect and effort required to produce the well-known “Soulful Textiles”.
 
 
本書由日籍織品技術研究員鳥丸貞江，在歷時15年的實地考察後撰寫。記錄了居住在中國西南地區的少數民族-苗族傳承下來的各種染織技藝。
 
  書中包含700多幅彩圖及文字解說，內容涵蓋原材料、加工、染色及編織方法、織布機器與工具以及織品的種類和紋樣的分析等眾多內容，廣博而深邃地介紹了被喻為「靈魂的紡織品」之苗族染織工藝及其背後的人文風情！
 
  出版於2001年，早已絕版多時。同時作者所到的山區苗寨亦都已經發展到不復當年的質樸原始，是本可一不可再的稀世珍品！
